Smart Infrastructure

Utilities & environment · a P9e Microsystems division

Smart Infrastructure builds the supervisory and telemetry layer for assets that are spread out, hard to reach and expected to keep running for a decade. Pumping stations, substations, water networks, environmental monitoring sites. The engineering constraint is not throughput — it is behaving correctly when the network is down, which is most of the interesting cases.

How it fits together

The shape of the work

Device to dashboard — and back again

Connected products fail at the seams. The return path — commands and over-the-air updates — is designed at the same time as the forward path, not bolted on after the first fleet ships.

Engineering focus

What Smart Infrastructure builds

01

Water & wastewater automation

Pumping station control, reservoir and network telemetry, flow and quality monitoring, with local autonomy when the link drops.

02

Environmental monitoring

Air, water and noise monitoring networks with calibrated instrumentation and audited data paths for regulatory reporting.

03

Utility communications & networking

Cellular, radio and fibre backhaul for distributed assets, with segmentation and secure remote access engineered in.

04

IoT gateways & field devices

Ruggedised RTUs and gateways on the group's firmware SDK — store-and-forward, over-the-air updates, and a documented failure behaviour.

Platform stewardship

Platforms Smart Infrastructure maintains for the group

Built here because the domain knowledge is here, then licensed across the group.
